Five-door Ford Fiesta ST finally comes to the UK

It’s a little hard to believe that the Ford Fiesta ST first came to the UK all the way back in 2013, and it’s also a little hard to believe that up until now, it’s only been available here with three doors.

You see, in the US buyers have been able to specify their Fiesta STs with five doors, and now for the first time in Britain the hottest version of the Fiesta is finally available as a five-door.

Making one of the best small hot hatches more versatile, the new five-door Fiesta ST is available in ST-2 and ST-3 trims and costs from £19,495, £600 more than the equivalent three-door.

£600 more than three-door

That’s not too bad considering the extra practicality, and besides the two extra doors the ST is mechanically identical, so it packs all the same punch from its 180bhp 1.6-litre turbo engine.

Roelant de Waard, Ford Europe’s vice president for marketing, sales and service, said: “Ford has now sold more than 38,000 Fiesta STs in Europe since we introduced the acclaimed hot hatchback in 2013, and growing numbers of customers have been asking us for a five-door version.

“The Fiesta ST with five doors makes an affordable Ford Performance driving experience accessible to an even greater number of customers.”

Here in the UK, around 65 per cent of Fiesta customers specify their car with five doors, though Ford expects that only 25 per cent or so of Fiesta STs will be ordered in five-door format.

The new five-door Ford Fiesta ST is available to order in the UK now, with first deliveries due later this autumn.
