Of the 125 auto companies that sprang up in the early twentieth century, the “Big Three” auto firms—General Motors, Ford, and Chrysler—were all based in the nearby ‘Motor City’, Detroit. So it’s no coincidence that undefeated boxing phenomenon Mayweather is a keen car collector.

Money’s Mercedes
After his unfortunate robbery loss in the 1996 Atlanta Olympics semi-finals, Mayweather embarked on a professional path in Las Vegas. With his first purses he bought a 1996 600S Mercedes – a car that still holds a place in his garage to this day. The V12 obviously reminds the punching petrolhead of his more grounded roots, as just two years later he was a WBC world champion and would never look back.
The self-proclaimed ‘TBE’ (The Best Ever) has owned a number of other Mercedes, but his SLS AMG is envy-inducing – just look at those gullwings.

Although this wasn’t his first Phantom, after his masterful 2005 dismantling of Arturo Gatti, Floyd collected the keys to another Rolls and later sold it online for $149,985. It’s also rumoured he bought his girlfriend three Rolls-Royce Ghosts shortly after defeating Victor Ortiz – because one is not enough.

No millionaire car collector’s collection would be complete without a Lamborghini or two and the boxing superstar obviously has owned several. Mayweather frequently hits the tarmac of Las Vegas Boulevard in his Aventador LP Roadster or customised ‘Money’ Murcielago.
