London Motor Show: MG GS SUV makes UK debut

The new MG GS SUV has made its official UK debut at the 2016 London Motor Show.

MG has finally revealed its first ever SUV in Britain for the first time during the start of the 2016 London Motor Show. The budget family car is now available for customers to pre-order.

The MG GS represents a budget alternative to the likes of the Nissan Qashqai, Renault Kadjar, Ford Kuga, Kia Sportage and Hyundai Tucson.

In regards engines, it has now been confirmed that the MG GS will use a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine.

Intriguingly, the GS is built on a scalable platform which could potentially be used for other models like a smaller SUV. Such a car from MG could represent a separate, budget alternative to smaller SUV-style cars like the popular Nissan Juke, Renault Captur, Vauxhall Mokka and Ford EcoSport.

Pricing for the MG GS has yet to be confirmed, but while MG are currently keeping quiet about the starting price, it’s rumoured the SUV could start a few grand cheaper than the likes of the Qashqai.

More details including info on pricing is due to arrive next month.
