New SEAT Leon Cross Sport Show Car concept unveiled

SEAT has unveiled sketches of a new concept model dubbed the Leon Cross Sport Show Car ahead of the Frankfurt Motor Show.

So far, the manufacturer has been vague with the details, simply saying that the concept “matches the SEAT brand perfectly with its performance, dynamic design and crossover attitude”.

Aimed at “young, spirited customers” with an “urban lifestyle”, the sketches appear to show a three-door car which takes themes from the Cupra hot hatch range and the X-PERIENCE crossover estate.

No information has been given other than the first images, though it’s possible that it’s one of the four new models which SEAT recently announced that it’s currently working on.

Last week, president Jürgen Stackmann announced a 3.3 billion euro investment to be put towards the manufacture of all-new vehicles in the next two years.

He said: “The 3.3 billion euros is earmarked for promoting new vehicle development R&D projects at the SEAT Technical Centre as well as equipment and facilities in the Martorell factory.”

Details have yet to be announced, but rumours state that SEAT is busy working on a Qashqai-rivalling compact SUV, a larger seven-seat SUV and potentially a small Juke-sized crossover.

Further information has yet to be revealed, but it’s expected that more will be known from tomorrow onwards, during the opening of the Frankfurt Motor Show.
