Order books for the facelifted Fiat 500S are now officially open, with prices for the sportier version of the 500 city car starting from £12,950.
Fiat gave its ever-popular 500 a slight nip and tuck in the middle of last year, and the 500S follows suit with a comprehensive restyling that includes new bumpers, bigger side skirts and a rear spoiler.
The car also gets tinted rear windows and a chrome-finished tailpipe, along with black-grained front air intakes and a choice of either 15- or 16-inch alloy wheels in a satin graphite finish.
New looks, more equipment
Inside, the car gets black sports seats and a black roof lining, both of which get contrasting door panels and seat inserts, along with a sports steering wheel and the option of Frau leather upholstery.
As standard, the 500S now gets a seven-inch digital TFT instrument display and the car also now gets Fiat’s latest generation Uconnect infotainment system on a separate seven-inch touchscreen.
The Uconnect system supports Bluetooth and voice commands, while a 3D TomTom sat-nav can be added for an additional £250, while buyers can also specify a BeatsAudio sound system for £300.
Choice of four engines
Like the regular 500, the 500S is available with four engine options which includes a 1.2-litre petrol with 68bhp and the 0.9-litre turbocharged TwinAir engine with a choice of either 84bhp or 104bhp.
A 1.3-litre diesel engine is also available with an output of 94bhp and which Fiat says can return up to 83.1mpg with just 89g/km of CO2 for ultra-low running costs and free road tax.
Available to order now in both hatchback and convertible formats, the new Fiat 500S is priced between £12,950 for the entry-level petrol engine and £15,350 for the diesel.
