Orders now open for Audi TT RS, the most powerful TT ever made

The new Audi TT RS, the fastest and most powerful version of the TT ever made, is now available to order in the UK, priced between £51,800 and £53,550.

Powered by a 2.5-litre turbocharged five-cylinder engine, the TT RS generates a maximum of 394bhp, enough to take it from 0-62mph in just 3.7 seconds and on to a top speed of up to 174mph.

Available as either a hardtop coupe or a convertible roadster, the TT RS also gets Audi’s famous quattro all-wheel drive and a seven-speed dual clutch gearbox as standard.

Supercar-rivalling performance

To keep all that power in check, Audi has had to significantly tweak the TT’s exterior to make it more aerodynamically stable, with new large air inlets on the front and a wide singleframe grille.

Aerodynamically-shaped side sills and a fixed rear wing help guide airflow over and around the car, while the back is finished off with a rear diffuser and big-bore exhaust pipes.

The car rides on 19-inch alloys and suspension that’s been lowered by 10mm as standard, but buyers can choose to upgrade the wheels to 20 inches and can also specify Audi’s magnetic ride suspension.

Luxury interior and options

Other performance options include ceramic brake discs and the Dynamic Package Plus, which adds a louder sports exhaust and also raises top speed from a limited 155mph to its 174mph maximum.

Inside, the TT RS features sports seats upholstered in Nappa leather, with a special sports steering wheel wrapped in Alcantara and a supercar-inspired integrated start/stop button like the R8.

Standard kit includes Audi’s virtual cockpit digital instrument display, sat-nav with built-in travel information, in-car Wi-Fi and a Bang & Olufsen sound system.

Available to order now

As well as that, the new TT RS will be the first Audi to come with the option of Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) rear lights, which emit a high-contrast light but are more efficient than standard bulbs.

Available to order now, the Audi TT RS is priced from £51,800 for the coupe and £53,550 for the roadster, and first deliveries are expected to arrive by the end of the year.
