Nissan will unleash ‘Godzilla’ GT-R on Goodwood FOS hill climb

Supercar fans in the UK will get their first proper look at the latest 2017 GT-R during this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed.

The updated Nissan GT-R is the latest sports car to be confirmed for its UK debut appearance at the 2016 Goodwood Festival of Speed later this month.

The latest version of the GT-R was first revealed to the public back in March, during the New York Motor Show. The latest iteration of the technological supercar, affectionately known as ‘Godzilla’, features minor styling tweaks, improved aerodynamics and an even more powerful engine. It also gets a heavily-updated cabin.

The 3.8-litre twin-turbo V6 used for the GT-R now has an extra 20bhp, giving the updated coupe a total of 562bhp. Torque output has also risen from 632Nm to 637Nm.

Nissan will demonstrate the potential of its even quicker 2017 GT-R by taking it through the famous Goodwood hillclimb course during this year’s Festival of Speed. The car will be driven through the 1.16-mile course by Nismo’s British racing driver Jann Mardenborough.

Also making its UK debut at Goodwood this year will be the updated version of Nissan’s even more hardcore GT-R Nismo. It has 592bhp and features more extreme aerodynamic parts and racing components, transforming the car into even more of a track day beast.
